SX-AX15 (20) Firmware Upgrade User Manual
Page 1
I. Overview
This manual details the firmware upgrade procedure of SurgeX Axess products (SX-AX15 and
SX-AX20). This manual and figures, (screenshots) assume a default IP address of
192.168.0.254, and default location for the program files as C:\SurgeX\Axess.
Before You Begin
Upgrading the Axess will result in changes to the AC power outlets. Remove the Axess from
service prior to upgrading the firmware.
The PC running the Axess upgrade program must be on the same subnet as the Axess to be
upgraded.
Upgrading the Axess requires that Upload Enable is set to yes. Use the set upload enable yes
command prior to attempting an upgrade, or set Upload Enable to yes using the Setup and
Control Utility (SCU).
Upgrading the Axess may result in a reset to original factory defaults. This will include the
default IP address of 192.168.0.254. If you need access to the Axess subsequent to the
firmware upgrade, make sure in advance that you can access this IP Address.
Upgrading the Axess may also result in the loss of voltage calibration data.
IMPORTANT:
If this occurs, the Axess MUST have its voltmeter re-calibrated or the outlets will
NOT turn on.
To calibrate the voltmeter, obtain the actual line voltage using an appropriate meter (or use the
reading from a different Axess or Axess Elite product connected to the same wall outlet), and
then enter the following CLI command: set main a vcalibration 120 where 120 represents the
measured line voltage.
